Totally up to you — we design them to age, but you’ve got options.

Metalbirds are made from premium Corten steel — the same weathering steel used in outdoor sculptures and high-end architecture. It’s meant to develop a rich rust-colored patina over time that protects the steel and blends beautifully with the landscape.

But if you’d rather lock in the dark steel look, or want a pop of color, you can:

• Spray with a matte clear coat (we recommend Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Enamel) to preserve the original finish

• Get it professionally powder-coated for more color options and a longer-lasting look
