Are Metalbirds Safe Around Pets and Kids?Updated 6 hours ago
They most certainly are — but like anything made of steel, it depends where and how they’re installed.
Metalbirds are solid, weighty sculptures with some pointy edges, designed to be tapped securely into place. Once properly installed, they’re very stable — but they’re not toys, and they’re definitely not for curious fingers or paws.
Here’s what to know:
Install them well above head height in walkways or play areas. These aren’t meant for high-traffic zones where someone might bump into them.
Avoid placing them at eye level along paths, driveways, or near seating areas.
Keep out of reach of kids or pets until securely installed. A loose or leaning bird is a safety hazard — once it’s in, it should stay put.
Use common sense. If you wouldn’t hang a steel coat hook in that spot, don’t put a bird there either.
Once installed with care and in a sensible location, they’re completely safe and have been enjoyed in family homes, gardens, schools, and public parks for years.
Treat them like you would any outdoor art — appreciated from a distance, installed with intent, and always secured properly.
